Identifying Damp

Several walls in the hospital were affected by damp that was damaging the wall plaster and decorations. Damp walls are not a good thing to have anywhere, especially in a hospital, so we were instructed by our clients, Lateral Concepts Ltd, to carry out a thorough survey and report on what was causing the problem. This was carried out by one of our qualified damp and timber surveyors and recommendations were submitted within our report for eradicating it.

How we treat damp

Considerable measures were carried out, prior to commencing the damp proofing, to protect the adjoining areas against dust. Joinery timbers and the damp and salt contaminated wall plaster were removed and carefully bagged up and immediately removed from the hospital. The base of the walls were pattern drilled to the correct depth, cleared of dust and injected with cream damp proof course solution. The walls were then prepared prior to applying our specialist damp proof plastering system and finish coats. New UPVC skirting and architraves were fitted and all was left for others to decorate.
